James Benning’s first film called The United States of America was a 1975 trip across the country, capturing its scenery through a car windshield. This second one also crisscrosses the nation, but without a car, carving it up instead into a series of static shots of just under two minutes, one for each state, presented alphabetically, from Heron Bay, Alabama to Kelly, Wyoming. The names of the places are nondescript, but the images attached to them are anything but, immaculately composed shots of landscape, cityscape and the spaces in between. As we move from A to Z, the images coalesce into a portrait of today’s USA, tracing out its fault lines almost in passing: fenced-off facilities, a river bed running dry, factories and refineries, run-down streets and gas stations, a camp under a bridge. The past is there too, seeping up through the songs and speeches that sporadically pierce the background noise or the motifs that evoke a whole career; the clouds, trains and cabins are stand-ins for films, not just states. As always, there’s time for more abstract thoughts too: each image may stand for a state, but representativity is slippery. Which state is more cinematic than the rest?
每一部西区故事都是Anita传，顾名思义除了Anita其他基本都是垃圾。以为原版男女主之间的龃龉和脚演技已经够糟糕了，新版男女主真的讨厌升级，电影演员最怕人丑胆子大演俊男美女，雪上加霜的是俊男美女配上原版就不讨喜的智障人设，他俩出现在我眼前的每一秒都是对我人生的糟践。斯皮尔伯格的摄影和调度每一帧都写满了我厉不厉害，可惜成熟（注意是成熟不是优秀）的技巧加在一滩屎身上也只会让人更反感这滩屎，至于音乐剧层面我已经完全忽略了。
黑社会和歌舞片实在不搭，虽然歌舞还不错，但剧情是真烂。。。

近几年最让我失望的斯皮尔伯格。暂且不说是否看过原版吧，单就歌舞片最基本的代入感和沉浸感，这部电影就完全让我感受不到。就更不用说故事本身就是一个老到牙都掉光的地步。主人公感情线不合理也就算了，主要是两个主人公的存在感居然可以这么低，还不如女主的哥哥和嫂子让人印象深刻，最起码哥嫂二人在纽约街头的拉丁热舞真的是够调动情绪的。但是讲真的，硬件是真的没话说，服化道以及整部电影的场面调度，绝对是一流水平。

女主可以不要这么恋爱脑吗？
有什麼比擅長人文場景的大師翻拍音樂歌舞經典還更令人期待？
在看电影的时候我在思考一个问题：其实音乐剧大部分都不是很适合改编成电影，再好的导演也拯救不了——通常剧本都比较通俗易懂、人物刻画略显单薄，歌曲又以抒发感情为主，两三分钟的唱段很容易让人心生无聊——这些缺点都被大屏幕完美的放大了；而本来因为剧场面对面带来的舞台震撼被彻底割腕了。作为一个没看过舞台版本的人来说看这个电影前三首歌都很想离场、印象最深的可能就是体育馆和纽约街头的群舞，其他无一不在感慨桥段的老套和人物情感转折的不合情理以及莫名其妙。
太难看了，除了服装之外一无是处啊。故事本身已经看烦了，还找这么难看演技差没有存在感的男主来演。中间哥嫂那段街头热舞之后立刻接上男主那张脸，视觉对比太强烈了，到了难以忍受的程度。没能看完。而且我也不太明白，我不是不能看歌舞片的人，反而很爱看歌舞片，为什么唯独这一部给我这么强的违和感，通篇感觉不是实景拍摄像是在舞台上表演。这是故意的吗？但效果并不好啊。
技术上特别厉害，故事虽然我有些疑虑但在当下特别有意义，人与人间分歧产生的争端升级后只会带来伤害，愿大家平和，愿世界和平。这是我在豆瓣标记看过的第3000部电影。

文本底子过硬，歌舞部分也是真不错，其他就乏善可陈了

哥哥嫂子Riff演的都特别好……敌对阵营的女性还是会挺身而出阻止强暴……嗯除此之外好像也没啥优点了。说实在的看这种故事我现在就是一脸冷漠，这些人全都是自找的，女人们工作劳动，男人们打架斗殴，约群架还带刀带枪，死人不是很正常的事吗，搞得特别沉重特别惊讶似的……
爱死Ariana DeBose!! Ansel没有网传的差，Rachel也没有预期的完美，David Alvarez超性感。Ariana DeBose完美！奥斯卡最佳女配预定！
警察对女主说“哥哥被杀了，你一定很难过吧？”的时候，我差点没笑出来。男女主表演和歌舞太糟糕了！男主从头到尾就一个表情！最后被毙了竟然有一股莫名的爽感！影片的舞美、摄影、服装都很出彩，尤其是一众百老汇配角们的精彩歌舞秀，Anita最出众，原版Anita的出演也是惊喜。当作是斯皮尔伯格对心中经典的一次任性的致敬就好；有些片段改的还挺有趣，但总体就是一副华丽的皮囊。倒也没期待能拍出什么花样来，so除了男女主以外，基本符合预期。还有Talia Ryder到底演谁？找半天没找出来……
镜头调度眼花缭乱赏心悦目，奥斯卡最佳摄影、最佳美术指导预定。
