The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 很有一点愁苦版座头市的感觉；各方面处理得就像动画，考虑到男主演的几乎都是这类型，也许再剪短一点多凑几集就是他个人的《爱 死亡 江湖》hhhhhhhhhh
一星半；网上吹得再天花乱坠，本片也不过是一部歪嘴龙王式的中二武侠网大，尤其是将军派人取消婚约时的戏，简直就是歪嘴龙王广告一模一样，人设和美术非常接近日本武士片，主角活脱脱一个座头市+张涵予。唯一可以吹的是运镜比较有电影意识，摄影上还玩了几处花活

有点像是中国版座头市，一个瞎子剑客复仇的故事。不过做了一些本土化的剧情设置，显得不那么日式，武打场面还行，没有以前港片的行云流水，但是动作还是好看的。整个故事就是很短的一个套路，前因后果都讲明白了，人物出身也介绍了，或许是打算出续作？

谢苗在网大的动作片里，还是有份量的，这一部，之前的《辛弃疾》都不错。
年少时痴迷古龙武侠，也曾见识过大陆新武侠的兴盛，谁还没有过年少轻狂心怀热血，妄想行侠仗义替天行道的时候。可以说，本片是我近些年来看过少有喜欢的武侠作品，远胜某些院线大导的圈钱垃圾
极其简单的武侠短篇剧情，几场动作对战长棍长剑双刀铁钩，打得很精彩。上等人想要颗珠子，中下层就得死一片。“讨个公道”这个主题放在当下多么地适合，多么满足当前人们心中的fantasy。导演是【看见恶魔】粉丝吧，又是拉门断头，又是斩筋腱的。太喜欢瞎子第一次铁拐里抽刀时刻，瞬间幻视到金世遗！bug当然有 怎么可能灭门时瞎子听不见😹，但是主题+动作戏都做得超好，值得加一星鼓励。
谢苗的打戏真的帅！就凭他的打戏，我都要给五颗星！

没看过谢苗，这一部网大认识了。
除了服化道不太讲究之外，其他都不错。谢苗原来是少林五祖里的童星，感觉很有潜力。
纯粹简单诚意，动作设计、剧情节奏、摄影调度、画面、音乐（那口哨致敬）、氛围，干净利落，非常喜欢，导演编剧演员各方面都很好地诠释了李太白的《侠客行》，我要打满分，我要支持！
很有武侠感并且不同于香港传统武侠 虽然很多地方有日本武士片的感觉但也无可厚非 情节很简单但拍出了新意 动作设计不错音乐也不错口哨让人想起西部荒原古筝和大鼓则是中国传统乐器 当然最主要的还是主演谢苗的表演够出彩
