The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 黑白的畫面彷彿是現今灰濛蒙的疫情世界，但大人和小朋友還是可以互相慰藉。
看得眼湿湿……爱是深切的共情……中国一切都太快了，太求效率、实际、和结果，却忘了柔软，慢下来，感受自己和他人的感受，care for people, care our own feelings…..
我喜欢这部电影的架构，正是在于它用这样简单又通透的方式，呈现了生命的不可切割性和神秘主义。告别童年，只会发生在年龄层面上，而我们一直都背负着整个生命历程，同时需要面对未来的不确定性。这意味着，我们不能剥离开附着在连续经历中的深切感受，否则将很难形成真诚的思考。就像一个被忽略的孩童无法形成完整的人格，当我们用回避去掩盖内心的冲突，持续忽略被解读为“幼稚”的冲动而不是面对的话，也很难真正的成熟起来。

试图努力分辨文艺的抒情和真实的纪录之间的界限，初衷是觉得在真人（？）采访和舅甥关系的刻画之间存在着一定的割裂。虽然生活很艰难，但最终会被治愈，光是这个理念就让我很难受。
8.1/通过叔叔与侄子的短暂相处来重新审视语言与情感，而电影通过纪录片与记叙片的切换来重审倾听/表述的重要性 - 短信/阅读/电话/对话/采访 - 去了解自己和他人最好的方式。电影通过slow pan & slow zoom & melancholic music & black and white来艺术化的表现可能却徒增了一些不必要的boredom。

好久没看黑白片了，摄影很棒，穿越过四个风格各异的美国城市，这样的色调也不会喧宾夺主。需要跟影像和时间一起放慢下来去体验这两位主角之间的bonding，孩子对世界的思考，成年人的焦虑。Over the years, you will try to make sense of that happy, sad, full, empty, always-shifting life you're in.
It just reminds me again how much I love Mike Miles. Time and space and emotions are real in his films.
