The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 【NYFF59 - ACH全球首映】近年在电影里看到过最好的黑白摄影之一，美得毛骨悚然。虽然依旧是麦克白的陈规故事，但是科恩在这部电影里做的aesthetic简直无与伦比，半戏剧半实景式的布景、转场、特写，都精致得每一框都可以当画。Frances McDormand的表演不用说了，Danzel其实也给我点惊喜，有点之前扮演者没有的外化疯癫。4.5，真的太需要在大银幕上感受美感了。
不够古典也不够现代，各种违和感，也就布景打光值得一看。
简洁主义的布景、极为考究的台词、充满张力的表演、自成一体的美学，使得影片具有浓厚的舞台剧色彩。这也不同于科恩兄弟以往的作品，或许是由于乔尔·科恩单独执导本片，我更愿将这部电影视为其“单飞”后的实验作品。

前方的那把，原来是门的把手——通向D死亡的门——它打开了…
莎翁的作品还是伟大。麦克白的悲剧或许在于无法听到自己的声音，无法循着自己的使命妥善过一生，听了太多谗言蒙蔽了自己的双眼。
大科恩的改编剧本太保守了，戏剧舞台和电影结合，台词几乎莎翁原版，剧情也好像没什么变化。还是现代改编老作品的一贯视角，所谓结构经典神话勾连现代人们的精神困境，这点倒不是乔伊斯的意识流味儿而是偏精神分析各种符号的生添硬加。
除了布景，该版本麦克白在女巫的两个“文字游戏”被揭开之后并未呈现出丝毫动摇，而是一条道走到黑似的面对任何结局。这已经是不小的改动了。
1.极致戏剧化的呈示，而非着手于对镜头媒介的献媚，这才意味着电影艺术真的成熟了。
