In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 电影的叙事很简单，但这浓浓的印度风味值得我们珍惜，就凭这它就值5星。
开始我看什么公众号推荐以为是传记类电影，结果是小说改编。整个就变成了一个印度爽剧，莫名其妙的成功和莫名其妙的女权，女主凭什么从这么多人里面脱颖而出呢，就靠脸吗？？

题材和人物塑造角度，真不错，很佩服印度有这样的人物和影视作品，但从作品本身来看，对社会丑陋和女性苦难遭遇没有更深刻反映——也许默认印度这些问题非常严峻，所以从我们观看角度，故事后半部分逻辑完全无法理解。但总体是个好作品，推荐。

在镣铐下尊严而自由地活着立意可以，某些情节如牺牲利用小男友也有弧光闪现，Alia的表现也自然灵气，这些种种让我觉得本片原可以描绘出一个复杂玲珑的灰色人物，但SLB就是能把他的所有女主都拧巴成伟大光明正义模范神的形象，现实主义意识为零，画面依旧是假而空的雕饰，表达全靠台词，至今都没学会把影像哪怕和他自己那堆空话建立联结，看不下去了…

没理解大佬为什么要帮她，很多问题都是大佬解决的，但没说为什么
看完之后觉得很感动 虽然不是很理解为什么黑社会大哥会无偿帮助女主 但我想他应该也有一颗金子般的心 也是想为印度女性的崛起贡献出自己的一份力量吧 宣扬女性的独立意识任重而道远
能量就要溢出屏幕了“你怎么一直在运动”“还有另一半成功”。不过整体叙事还是比较潦草，比起事业又更加强调爱情。
p.s. 女主是Gully Boy里疯狂勇敢浪漫的女友！在短时间内无预警的情况下看到第二部她的作品，好惊喜！她真的好美！
