The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 水怪开头的战斗力和结尾完全不在一个水准，结局强行煽情。
这部影片在没有了前作那样精彩的打斗后，依然以“水猴子”为切入点讲述了一个悲伤的故事，与第一部还是有衔接的，但加入了更多的悬疑和惊悚，当第一部打败水猴子后，本来是大快人心的事情，第二部却还有水猴子，上水镇为什么还笼罩在鬼怪之下呢？伴随着故事变化，影片更多加入了人的感情，批判了社会的愚昧和麻木！但还是那句话：比鬼怪更可怕的是人心！
项氏的完成度还是不错的。

网大恐怖片能拍成这样，还不错，虽然结局有点草草，水猴子死的有点刻意，其他还不错，值得一看。
不是流量明星，也没有多绚丽的背景，也可以让你一步步跟着剧情走。

讲故事的手法还是薄弱，当整体已经算良心制作的网大了。
