The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 很燃！编剧和导演带有明显的偏向，把三位MK战士塑造的弱势又强大，暴力又正义！但这是根据真实事件改编的，一分真实四分改编，为自由而战没错，但就真实事件而言，三位主角远没有电影塑造的完美～但凡挟持人质相关的电影，多多少少都会展示斯德哥尔摩症候群，本片也不例外～自由，对普通人，从古至今，都是最贵的！

片中在银行中不杀人质很奇怪，对自己人毫不犹豫开枪，在中国类似事件警方并不会受绑匪威胁，而是直接封锁消息冲进去。一开始很期待三人在银行的表现，后面故事很让人失望。

本片取材于一起真实的案例，发生在南非的一起预谋破坏行动，因为失败而演变成劫持人质案，最终又转变成为一起争取种族民主自由运动。
很好的讲述了一个高中生对自己性向的不认同。对一个十几岁的孩子来讲，发现自己是所谓的另类，那种纠结的心情。旁观者，其实永远都是事不关己，这种微妙的心态，真的描述的很好。
